At its simplest, Reiki is just gentle, supportive energy. Think of Reiki I as your introduction to your own internal ecosystem. This level is entirely focused on self-healing, self-care, and personal alignment.
In this class, you’ll receive what’s called an attunement. Don't let the fancy word throw you. It’s a process that clears the dust off your antenna so you can tune into this natural energy more clearly. You aren’t learning to fix, change, or heal anyone else just yet. This level is a beautiful, personal gift meant to help you ground yourself and find balance.
Think of it as a step-by-step journey of filling your own cup before you try to pour into anyone else:
You can't skip step one. We start with the self so that when you do decide to support others, you’re doing it from a place of abundance, not exhausted.
Not at all. You don't need to be a naturally intuitive person, you don't need to have a quiet mind, and you don’t need any history with energy work. Reiki isn’t a special club for a chosen few. It's a natural capacity that lives in everyone. This class simply gives you the structure, the space, and the practical tools to consciously connect with it. If you can breathe and you have a genuine desire to support your own well-being, you are fully qualified.
After the two-day class and the attunement, your physical and energetic systems go through a natural clearing and integration process. For the 21 days following the workshop, your only job is to sit with the energy.
This means committing to a short, daily self-treatment (just placing your hands on yourself and letting the energy flow). It’s a three-week window to notice how you feel, let old, heavy clutter clear out, and ground yourself in your new routine. Some days it feels deeply peaceful; other days you might just feel a bit tired as your body processes things. It's all normal, and it’s all part of the path.
We live in the real world, and nobody has hours to spare every day. The beautiful thing about Reiki is its simplicity. Once you learn the hand positions for yourself, you can practice them while you're lying in bed waking up, sitting on the couch winding down at night, or even during a quiet moment at your desk. It doesn't require a perfect, silent room. It just requires your intention and a few minutes of dedicated time for yourself.
Keep it simple and low-stress. In the few days leading up to our class, try to drink a little extra water, eat foods that make your body feel good, and get some decent rest. When you come to class, wear comfortable clothes you can easily breathe and relax in. Bring an open heart. We will take care of everything else.
